April 5 Practice Sessions Cancelled; All Eyes On Next Saturday's Opener

Too much rain at the end of the work week has forced Lanco officials to cancel the Practice Night scheduled for Saturday, April 5.

The track prep crew simply could not get onto the high banked oval, due to it being overly saturated from all the rain, to whip it into shape for Saturday's shake-down sessions.

Focus now shifts to next week, April 12, for the "Spring Has Sprung Season Opener", with gates opening at 3:00, 2 rounds of warm-ups for each class beginning at 4:30, and the first heat race of 2014 goes green at 6 p.m.

Racecar reinspections will be performed before warm-ups next Saturday. There will not be any new inspections done at the opener. Anyone wishing to compete next Saturday, April 12, must be a Lanco member and attempted to have his/her car inspected on March 29 & 30.

Non-members are welcome to come and race, beginning with the second event on April 19. That is going to be a very special night, as AJ Blosenski Trash Hauling & Recycling, along with longtime Lanco competitor Dick Huzzard, present Across America for Wounded Heroes. The Lanco community will pay tribute and offer support to this Wounded Warrior project in which a gentleman plans to travel from coast to coast...aboard a John Deere tractor!

Stay tuned for additional details and updates on the AAWH Night as well as the April 12 season opener.
