In an effort to reward its racers - who endure the ever-rising cost of fielding a racecar to do what they love to do - the bakers known as Lanco's Board of Directors have kneaded additional dough into the 2013 payout for all five weekly Micro-Sprint Classes competing at the Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway.

Any of those five divisions - the 600cc, 270cc, 125cc, Sportsman, and/or 270cc Four-Stroke - that pull a field of 24 or more cars for a regular, point-paying event, will see its winner's share increased by $50.

Feature races that are unsponsored will pay $350 to the winning driver, provided 24 or more cars are entered in that particular class.

In races that are sponsored, an entry list of 24 to 30 cars will enable the feature winner to pocket $350, while a field of 31 or more means the winner will earn $400!

The full field payouts, for both sponsored and unsponsored events, is posted on the club's website at

With large fields in most of its divisions on a weekly basis, the Lanco Board realizes that some drivers will go home without having a chance to compete in his/her main event. And they've decided that the non-qualifiers deserve something for their efforts, too, so...

Any team that does not qualify will receive a free car entry for the following point-paying event only, as long as there are 24 or more entries in his/her class on the night that he/she does not qualify.

The free car entry must be used at the next regular point show; it cannot be carried over to a later date and cannot be utilized at a special event or one of the Open Shows (Memorial Day or Labor Day Shootout).

Lanco's 2013 schedule at the Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway has been altered slightly, as the Winged 600cc Micros have been reinserted on the menu for the July 13 banquet of speed at the Clyde.

An earlier release of the schedule listed Wingless 600's for July 13; it has now been confirmed that Winged 600's will compete that night in a non-point event, with the normal purse being paid. The 270cc, 125cc, Sportsman, and 270cc Four-Stroke Micros are also on the July 13 agenda.

With the new season quickly approaching, the dates for car inspections have been established as this Saturday, March 23, and Sunday, March 24. Inspections will once again be carried out, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day, at Bud's Spring Service. The inspection site is located at 1420 Arcadia Road in Lancaster, PA.

All cars must be race ready at the time of inspection.

Cars that have not been inspected or have not passed inspection will not be allowed to compete at the season opener on Saturday, April 13.

No new inspections will be performed on Practice Night (April 6) or at the first race on April 13.

Reinspections will occur from 2 to 4 p.m. prior to Practice Night on April 6.

Cars will hit the track for the first time in 2013 during the practice sessions on the 6th of April, beginning with a Rookie Orientation from 4 - 5 p.m. Practice for rookies only will then take place from 5:00 - 6:00. From 6 - 9 p.m., the track will be open for practice to all club members.

The 56th season opener under the Lanco banner takes place on Saturday, April 13. Gates open at 3:30 and warm-ups begin at 5 p.m. The first heat race of the new season goes green at 6:00.

After another point-paying event on April 20, the first special program of 2013 is scheduled for the 27th of April. That's the date for Fan Appreciation Night, when all spectators will be admitted FREE. Special activities and giveaways are also on the Fan Appreciation agenda.

Another season of Micro-Sprint thrills and chills is on the's almost time to once again LIVE the excitement that is Lanco!
