Newmanstown, Pa. - April 21 - After a valiant attempt to out-run Mother Nature, officials of Lanco's Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway were forced to cancel Saturday night's five-division card of Micro-Sprint competition.
With almost half of the evening's heat races completed, precipitation arrived and soon intensified. With the weather radar indicating even heavier rain on the way, the only viable option was to send everyone home.
Spectators' general admission rain checks will be valid for redemption on May 5 or May 12 - tickets will not be necessary for this Saturday's event (April 28 - the explanation can be seen below).
Pit pass wristbands and car entry fees from Saturday night can be used this week, April 28, or May 5.
This Saturday, April 28, is Fan Appreciation Night at the Clyde.
All spectators will be admitted FREE, and the track will be giving away dozens of prizes for fans of all ages. In addition, the Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank will conduct a Blood Drive at the speedway from 2 - 5 p.m. Please note: anyone wishing to donate blood must have eaten during the four-hour period prior to donation.
The action on the track will be hot and heavy, as usual, with qualifying heats, consolations, and 25-lap features for the 600cc; 270cc; 125cc; Sportsman; and 270cc Four-Stroke Micro-Sprints.
Free spectator admission, lots of giveaway items, and some of the best short track, dirt track racing you'll see anywhere, this Saturday's Fan Appreciation Night is the perfect time to come on out and LIVE the excitement that is Lanco!
